Second VR cinema opened its doors in Berlin

Only six weeks ago we published a post about the opening of worlds first VR cinema in Amsterdam. &samhoud media, the company behind the VR cinema, is advancing quickly with their strategy of rapid expansion. This last Thursday they opened a new location for their cinema, this time in Berlin. On their website, they announce that cities like Madrid, London and Paris can expect to have their own VR cinemas very soon as well. In Berlin, they show five different clips, four of them animated worlds, the last one a captured short-film called In Your Face, touching the delicate topic of the refugee crisis.

We are excited to see that the VR cinema concept has such a great reception and the expansion plans move forward rapidly. Not only is this an attraction in itself, but it also helps to increase the general market awareness. From what we understand, the VR cinema so far is not showing any commercials before the film starts, the way we are used to it from going to the regular movies. However, we can very well imagine tourism stakeholders teasing their services in short VR clips shown before the actual presentation.
