Today, the first virtual reality cinema opened its doors for the first time in Amsterdam. The VR cinema is a concept by &samhoud media that initially started out as a VR cinema popup touring through several European countries, however, they have now decided to get settled in Amsterdam. Customers are equipped with Samsung Gear VR headsets and Sennheiser high quality headphones that support a spatial sound experience. The venue itself is equipped with 360 rotating chairs to enable visitors to look in every direction with ease and shows VR experience clips such as a U2 concert from the front row perspective or a helicopter flight over New York. The tickets are priced at €12,50 each.
